Redbone 2: Takeover at Platinum Lofts by T. Styles

Knox Baker has been missing for weeks. When his cell phone is discovered in Farah Cotton’s possession, his family wants to know how she obtained it. Always deceitful, Farah quickly devises a clever lie to buy time. The problem is that there is one living person who knows the truth – Eleanor McClendon.

Della Baker, Knox’s mother, senses that Farah is lying. To help discern her son’s whereabouts, she calls upon two deadly family members from Mississippi. They waste no time converging on Platinum Lofts with one mission in mind – to find their lost family member no matter who they must kill in the process.

Farah goes on a wild chase to find Eleanor before anyone else does. If she fails, it could mean the end of her relationship with Slade and possibly her life.

Easily distracted, Farah’s lust for murder and mayhem is heightened when she unexpectedly meets people just like her. She’s immediately sucked into their world when her thirst for blood is validated by newfound friends. Will Farah Cotton survive, or will her lies be the end of her?

The sequel to captivating book #1, Redbone 2: Takeover at Platinum Lofts, centers around a dangerous game of cat and mouse between Farah and unassuming love interest-Slade Baker. Slade baker is a sexy outlaw from Mississippi who’s on the run from murder with his brothers, the Baker boys, and they’ve taken at refugee at Platinum Lofts. The strange Coton family vs. the violent Baker boys & their mama Della definitely make for a Takeover! Oh, and I cannot forget to mention that unconventional love entanglements between the siblings of opposing families will definitely draw you into the drama of it all 😲!! Younger siblings: Audio and Chloe share a dangerously lustful connection steeped in self-indulgence and violence. The families older siblings, Farah and Slade, share a deep connection of understanding, but they struggle to remain true to one another in a family feud that’s ripping everyone apart.

The reoccurring theme of people disappearing is prevalent in the sequel too. However, this time the people that are disappearing are near and dear to Farah. Several familiar characters return from book one, and we’re introduced to some new ones🤪. These friends shed some light on Farah’s “medical condition.” Farah’s craziness in this sequel was definitely on a higher level. I will say that seeing her mourn for friendships, and struggles with near death experiences showed a vulnerable side to her that I appreciated 💕. Despite lingering feelings of self-hate, Farah does seem to find a glimmer of salvation in her love for Slade.

True to my liking, the author uses first- and third-person narration in this sequel. I loved the story’s emphasis on loyalty and friendship amidst its’ chaotic schemes and delusions. The author’s skill in blending the different elements was spot on & it all came together very well 💚 RedBone2: Takeover at Platinum Lofts definitely stood alone as a unique and compelling read all on its own for me.
